Lunchtime Clubs
A rich array of clubs, societies and activities designed to broaden horizons, awaken interests and satisfy curious minds are offered and extend the learning provided in the classroom.
Through their involvement in the co-curricular programme, pupils learn the core qualities of teamwork, tolerance and leadership; as well as learning the quality of time-management. Undoubtedly, your child’s time at SLGS will be busy, but we firmly believe that by teaching pupils how to use time as profitably as possible we inculcate a quality that will take them far in life and equip them to be leaders of the next generation who can take our nation to the next level

INTERACT CLUB
The club is based on community service and community work and aims at bringing the youth together to work towards a better future.
Each interact club in their respective schools tailors their club to the needs of their surroundings and the interests of the club members, so there isn’t any set form that every interact club should be moulded into.
There are rather guidelines set In place to get the clubs In shape, and also a list of goals that should be achieved by each and every club; these clubs will be awarded after completing the listed goals.
Each member is expected to pitch in whither whatever little he has, whether it is money or food provisions or clothes, anything that can be donated to charity and towards community development can be given.
So in summary, to cut things short, the interact club is a youth service club based influenced by it’s members and surroundings, that aims at the betterment of society as a whole through youth empowerment.

SCRIPTURE UNION
The scripture union is an international inter-denominational evangelical Christian movement founded by Josiah Spiers in 1867. The club works in partnership with individuals and churches across the world.
In 1867 Josiah Spiers spoke to 15 children in a drawing-room in Islington, London, and began the work of sharing the Christian message with children in a way that related to their real needs.
This led to the founding of the Children’s Special Service Mission (CSSM) which was later to become “Scripture Union”.
Every school with a scripture union must have a sponsoring teacher and a student leader, the president of the club.

SCHOOL CHOIR
The Sierra Leone Grammar School being a mission school and an Anglican school takes pride in its choristers, hence the choir is a major part of the school’s identity as a whole.
The affairs of the choir are taken so seriously that the school chaplain, currently Reverend Haistings-Spaine, is appointed to oversee the activities of the choir.
The school choir normally takes charge during major school events like the annual Carol service, the Thanksgiving service, and the prizegiving and speech day.
The choir also has a major role to play during the morning devotion as hymns are sung and the choir normally leads song worship.
The school chaplain appoints a pupil to head the choir, this pupil is called the Choirmaster and he helps the chaplain to organise practice sessions and to recruit more choristers.
